Your new hair bestie
Here to help you
love your hair
There is no such thing as bad hair
don’t let anyone tell you otherwise
My goal is always to give you confidence with your hair
For years I dreaded getting haircuts because my hair never grew, I would
cry to my mom that I just wanted long hair. I’m fourth grade I went to
get a haircut and my mom specifically told her to cut one inch and she
cut four inches and I was scarred for years.
When I became a hairstylist I vowed that I would do my absolute best to be the hairstylist that listened to everyone in my chair and didn’t cut all their hair off without asking because although you are sitting in my chair, I am providing a service for you. I want you to feel safe, comfortable and respected in my chair.
With that being said, I also struggle with many sensory issues and I try my absolute best to keep water out of peoples ears. My goal is to make your experience in the chair as easy and painless as possible! Everyone is welcome in my chair! No discrimination here!
People who make you feel like your hair is too much, too frizzy, too thin or whatever it may be are showing their lack of experience. Don't take it personally just find someone else who knows what they are doing because people with the skill and confidence won't make you feel like you are the problem!
Hair is not just my career, its my passion
Cleansing
Did you know we have bacteria that lives on our scalp? many of us who have dandruff are sensitive to this bacteria and it feeds off of our natural oils. This is why it is important to cleanse our scalp at least once a week.
It is also important because if you leave the natural oils or any oils, dirt and debris on the scalp for too long it can clog the hair follicle that can lead to inflammation and eventually hair loss!
just remember a healthy scalp leads to healthy growth!
Conditioning
Conditioning is just as important as shampooing! Shampooing is going to take away some moisture from the hair and conditioner is going to replenish that. Moisture is most important in the shower.
If you have finer thinner hair I have found that if your hair needs a lot of moisture its best to use less of the product and focus it on the ends. the thicker the hair the heavier the product that can be handled.
I have baby fine curly hair and I have found that using a small amount of deep conditioner does the trick for me.
K-18
I have fine thin hair that has had trouble growing my whole life and I have been using K-18 for a long time every time I wash my hair and my hair has grown so much. When you have fine thin hair it tends to break off easily and that's why K-18 is helpful.
K-18 helps to rebuild the bonds lost when you color your hair but I also argue that it is great for retaining length in general for those who do not have a medulla which is the middle most part of the hair that brings the vitamins to the hair strand making it stronger.
That is why in my opinion a lot of people with fine thin hair struggle to retain length.
Hair Growth!
If you are struggling to grow your hair start incorporating vitamins and minerals into your diet because hair gets the last of all of the nutrients going into our bodies. I love taking the Force Factor hair growth accelerator chews. Pills wont absorb as easily.
It is also important to massage your scalp with oils. I prefer thinner oils because thicker ones irritate the scalp especially when people struggle with dandruff and other inflammatory conditions. Anything that has scalp stimulating ingredients such as rosemary, amla, fenugreek, horstail are going to be helpful.
If you feed your body from within your hair will show the results!
